Fever-Sky ticket prices: How Caitlin Clark injury has negatively impacted get-in cost from United Center game image

One of the most highly anticipated games on the WNBA calendar has lost its luster.

After the Fever announced on May 27 that Caitlin Clark will be out a minimum of two weeks with a left quadriceps strain, resale ticket prices for the team's game against the Sky on June 7 dropped significantly, and they've only fallen further in the lead-up to the contest.

Fever-Sky ticket prices after Caitlin Clark injury

Get-in prices for the Fever-Sky contest on June 7 plummeted after the team announced on that Clark would be out for at least two weeks with a left quadriceps strain.

In the first 48 hours after the injury announcement, resale ticket prices dropped 71% from $86 to $25. On Thursday, the Chicago Tribune reported that the cheapest ticket on SeatGeek is going for less than $20.

At the start of the season, this Fever-Sky game was flexed to the United Center in Chicago — the largest arena in the NBA that seats roughly 21,000 — in anticipation of Clark drawing larger crowds. The ticket market has spoken on just how highly anticipated her presence was.
