With the final in Zurich just a few weeks away, the 2025 Diamond League heads to Lausanne, Switzerland for its next meet on Wednesday. Only the men's pole vault event was held a day earlier, on Tuesday, August 19.
American star Noah Lyles will once again be under the spotlight, with the American a heavy favorite to win men's 100m sprint after rivals Kishane Thompson and Kenny Bednarek pulled out of the event. Jamaica's Thompson triumphed in the much-anticipated rematch against Lyles at the Silesia Diamond League last week.
The star-studded field at Lausanne features 27 athletes who won medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics. This includes, American pole vaulter Sam Kendricks, British middle-distance runner Keely Hodgkinson and Canada's Marco Arop in 800m men's race.
Points collected at these Diamond League events help athletes qualify for the season finale, which will take place in Zurich in August.
