The world of softball is quickly growing, but the Little League Softball World Series has long been a staple of the sport.
First played in 1974, the competition brings together some of the best youth softball teams in the United States and beyond to compete for a championship, just a few days before the Little League World Series begins.
With the NCAA softball tournament gaining in popularity and MLB launching the Athletes Unlimited Softball League, the stars of the future in those settings could be on display in this year's Little League Softball World Series.

2025 Little League Softball World Series bracket
The bracket includes two sides: purple and orange. After a double-elimination tournament on each side of the bracket, the winners will meet to play for the Little League Softball World Series championship.

Little League Softball World Series location
The Little League Softball World Series will be played at Stallings Stadium in Greenville, N.C., for the fifth consecutive year. The tournament begins on Aug. 3 and runs through Aug. 10.

How old are Little League Softball World Series players?
The eligible age range for participants in the Little League Softball World Series is 10 to 12.
As was the case in previous years, players ages 12 to 14 are instead eligible for the Junior League in Kirkland, Washington, while 13- to 16-year-olds are eligible for the Senior League World Series in Sussex County, Del.
What is the LLSWS pitch count limit?
In the Little League Softball World Series, a pitcher may pitch no more than 12 innings in one day. If a player pitches in seven or more innings in a single day, one calendar day of rest is mandatory, per Little League rules. Just throwing one pitch in an inning still qualifies as a full inning.
No more than five pitchers per team can be used in a game.

Little League, also referred to as the Major Division, uses a 60-foot diamond. There is a 40-foot distance between the pitcher and batter at Stallings Stadium in Greenville, N.C.
Who won the LLSWS in 2024?
The hometown team won the Little League Softball World Series in 2024, as Pitt County Little League from Winterville, N.C. won the event in its home state.
North Carolina defeated Pennsylvania in the tournament semifinals before picking up a 1-0 victory over Sterlington Little League from Louisiana in the championship game.
Pitt County gave the state of North Carolina its first LLSWS win since 2019, when Rowan Little League from Salisbury, N.C., won its second title in a span of five years.
