Novak Djokovic is one of the best players to ever grace the grass courts at Wimbledon.

He has seven titles, tied for second-most ever with Pete Sampras behind Roger Federer. He consistently arrives in London as one of the top seeds for the tournament.

But this year is different. Djokovic will enter the season as the sixth overall seed and a two-seed in his quarter. He missed the cut for the top four by 20 points.

It's bad news for the Serbian as he pursues his 24th Grand Slam starting on June 30.

This means he will likely have to play a top seed like Carlos Alcaraz or Jannik Sinner in the quarterfinals rather than the semifinals. That is, if he makes it to that point. He fell to Sinner in three sets at Roland-Garros just last month.

Djokovic has won just one tournament in 2025, the Geneva Open. It was his 100th career title overall.

His best result at a Grand Slam this season was reaching the semifinals at the Australian Open where he withdrew because of injury.

If Djokovic wants to make Grand Slam history, he'll have to overcome this obstacle just like he has so many times before.
