AC Milan and Bologna will meet in Rome on Wednesday with silverware—and European hopes—on the line.

Just days ago, Milan rallied from behind to beat Bologna 3-1 in Serie A, with Santiago Gimenez stealing the spotlight off the bench. That win made it four straight for the Rossoneri, who’ve come alive late in the season thanks to a tactical shake-up and a strong finish under Sergio Conceição. After a messy few months and a quiet exit from Europe, Milan now have a real shot at ending their domestic cup drought—and making a final push back into European competition.

But don't count Bologna out. It’s been over 50 years since they last lifted the Coppa, but under Vincenzo Italiano, they’ve pulled off an inspired cup run; taking out Atalanta and Empoli with confidence. Riccardo Orsolini has been in brilliant form, and Thijs Dallinga is emerging as a difference-maker up front. Bologna snapped their long Serie A winless streak against Milan earlier this year, but they’ve hit a speed bump just as the finish line approaches.

The Sporting News looks at the key details ahead of this game, including how to watch the match, kickoff times and the latest lineup news.

AC Milan vs. Bologna lineups, team news

AC Milan have received a timely boost ahead of the Coppa Italia final, with midfield anchor Youssouf Fofana returning from injury and star winger Rafael Leao back from suspension.

Fikayo Tomori, who limped off during the recent win over Bologna, is expected to recover in time to retain his place in the back three.

Sergio Conceicao is likely to stick with his favoured 3-4-2-1 system, where Leao and Christian Pulisic will flank the lone striker, whether that'd be Santiago Gimenez, Tammy Abraham, or Luka Jovic. Only Warren Bondo and Riccardo Sottil are confirmed absentees due to injury.

AC Milan predicted XI (3-4-2-1, right to left): Maignan (GK) — Tomori, Gabbia, Pavlovic — Jimenez, Fofana, Reijnders, Hernandez — Pulisic, Leao — Jovic.

Injured: Bondo, Sottil
Suspended: None

Bologna boss Vincenzo Italiano is also close to full strength, with Thijs Dallinga expected to lead the line ahead of Santiago Castro, who continues to struggle with a foot issue.

Riccardo Orsolini will once again be the primary threat from the right, having already bagged 15 goals this season, while Dan Ndoye, who scored the winner against Milan back in February, will battle Nicolo Cambiaghi and Benjamin Dominguez for a starting role on the opposite wing.

Emil Holm’s return from injury gives Italiano options at right-back, where he will contend with Lorenzo De Silvestri and former Rossoneri defender Davide Calabria.

Bologna predicted XI (4-2-3-1, right to left): Skorupski (GK) — Calabria, Beukema, Lucumi, Miranda — Freuler, Ferguson — Orsolini, Odgaard, Dominguez — Dallinga.

Injured: Erlic
Suspended: None
