The Premier League season might have wrapped up for 2024/25, but one ground in England's top flight will be busy this week.

Brentford's Gtech Community Stadium is the host venue for the Unity Cup, a four-team international tournament that will run from May 27 to May 31.

"National pride. Bragging rights. Pure vibes. This is war with rhythm," the tournament's broadcast partner AfrosportTV posted on X.com.

That all sounds great, but it doesn't really explain what will be going on in west London. Allow us.

What is the Unity Cup? Teams, schedule for international football tournament

The Unity Cup is a four-team invitational international tournament featuring African giants Nigeria and Ghana, along with Caribbean rivals Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago.

The event began with the all-CONCACAF encounter between Trinidad & Tobago and Jamaica on Tuesday, May 27.

That was the first semifinal, with Nigeria and Ghana crossing paths the following day.

On Saturday, May 31, a double header of the third-play playoff and a final will take place.

Saturday, May 31

  • 3rd place match: Trinidad & Tobago 0-4 Ghana
  • Final: Jamaica 2-2 Nigeria (Nigeria won 5-4 on penalties)
