Liverpool could be without goalkeeper Alisson when they seek to return to winning ways in the Premier League at home to Bournemouth.

The Reds were stunned 1-0 at Anfield by Nottingham Forest last weekend but responded with an authoritative 3-1 triumph at AC Milan in their UEFA Champions League opener.

That victory came at a cost for Brazil international Alisson, however, who aggravated a muscle injury at San Siro to put his participation on Saturday in doubt.

Here’s what we know about Alisson’s fitness and his alternative between the posts for Liverpool.

What Arne Slot said about Alisson’s injury

“Alisson, [there] is still a doubt if he can train today, so let’s wait [to see] if he can train," head coach Arne Slot told a pre-match news conference.

“Then, if he can’t, then he will probably not play as well, so we have to wait and see.

“I think he did not take it from the Milan game, it happened a bit before, but after the Milan game he felt more and more.

“Now we have to wait to see if he is ready to be in goal tomorrow, or we have to wait a few more extra days.”

Caoimhin Kelleher Premier League stats

If Alisson is absent, Republic of Ireland international Caoimhin Kelleher is ready to step in as he did during his teammate’s two-month absence last season.

That run of eight Premier League games featured six wins and two draws and accounts for the bulk of Kelleher’s appearances in England’s top flight.

Overall, the 25-year-old has played 15 Premier League games for Liverpool, winning 10, losing one and keeping four clean sheets.
