Miami (Fla.) freshman guard Lonnie Walker, one of college basketball's top newcomers and a potential lottery pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee Tuesday.

Walker, a five-star recruit who was ranked No. 18 on Sporting News' way-too-early 2018 NBA Draft big board, will have surgery this week, The Associated Press reported. The school didn't provide a timetable for his return.
