With only eight games on the plate, including three in the afternoon, it’s only a small serving of daily fantasy baseball pitching options for Thursday.
Most notably, Max Scherzer and red-hot Marcus Stroman play in the afternoon slate of games, and both are facing teams in the top three for most strikeouts. In the evening slate, Jon Lester (2-0, 15 IP, 16 Ks, three runs in his past two starts) faces a struggling White Sox team.
In the mid-tier and lower levels, Zack Godley has had eight or more strikeouts four of his past six games. In his last start against the Cardinals, he went seven innings, allowing two hits and three runs while striking out seven. The Mets called up Chris Flexen for his major league debut against the Padres. In Double-A, he was 6-1 with a 1.66 ERA. Debuts have a tendency to be awfully great or awfully bad. For his low price, he’s worth consideration in GPPs.

We have a small three-game day slate and a small five-game main slate tonight. It's a perfect chance to enter some GPPs, as there area few pitchers in play and the Cubs being way above the field for teams to target hitters from.
