It's Chris Sale Day for those in daily fantasy baseball contests. Thursday's action is divided between a six-game afternoon schedule and six-game main slate. Sale comes with one catch (excluding the most expensive price tag) -- the Indians are the only team that's struck out fewer than six times against Sale this year. In fact, they lit up Sale for seven runs while striking out just five times on Aug. 1.
In the afternoon slate, Robbie Ray is the top choice, even though he is coming off a DL stint after taking a 108-mph comebacker off his head. Michael Fulmer also has the potential for a lot of strikeouts against the Yankees.
In the evening slate, Carlos Martinez and Jake Arrieta are two solid pitchers to roster. Martinez faces a strikeout-heavy Padres team, and Arrieta has been red hot, posting a 5-1 record and 2.00 ERA in his past seven starts. Jose Berrios also has a good matchup, but the White Sox have been hitting the ball better lately. In all-or-nothing options, Luis Perdomo can beat a struggling Cardinals lineup that has been striking out a lot lately.
