The 2022 Winter Olympics offer yet another chance for Canada to flex its muscles on the ice — a dominance that isn't necessarily reflected in its all-time medal counts.
Entering the Beijing Games, Canada has earned 201 medals at the Winter Olympics. It's a number that could be much larger if the Canadians' dominance wasn't so focused on team-centric sports. Indeed, Canada holds Winter Olympics records for ice hockey in gold medals (13), silver (six), bronze (three) and total medals (22).
Canada has been similarly dominant in curling, where it holds Olympic records for gold (six), silver (three), bronze (two) and total medals (11). Canada has also enjoyed plenty of success in freestyle skiing, where it holds those records in gold (12), silver (nine), bronze (four) and total medals (25, tied with the United States).

Canada is coming off the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, where it finished third in total medal count, with 29 (trailing Norway and Germany). It also finished second in gold medals (11), third in silver (eight), and second in bronze.
That included a gold in curling, but surprising silver- and bronze-medal finishes in the women's and men's ice hockey tournaments, respectively.
