The San Francisco 49ers continue to be the most active team in the NFL when it comes to roster moves involving offensive players this summer.
The 'Niners made their latest pair of maneuvers on Tuesday.
First, they played running back Patrick Taylor on season-ending injured reserve.
Taylor dislocated his shoulder in the 49ers' second preseason game.

His roster spot has been taken by a quarterback, Nate Sudfeld. San Francisco announced it had signed Sudfeld to a one-year deal.
Sudfeld will be key for the final week of the preseason, in which it appears QB2 Mac Jones may be missing after a knee injury last week.
This is another stint with the 49ers for Sudfeld. He was on the San Francisco practice squad in 2021, then stayed with the 'Niners through 2022 training camp before being cut.

Sudfeld has also been under contract with the Commanders, Eagles and Lions.
He spent the 2024 summer with Detroit, but was cut by the end of the preseason.
Sudfeld originally entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick by the Commanders in 2016.
He has played in six total NFL games. He's 25-for-37 in his career throwing the ball with 188 passing yards and a single touchdown.
If Jones were forced to miss more time, the 49ers could potentially keep Sudfeld around, but this could also be his chance to impress other teams in the league with a solid preseason performance.
