Nobody is happier to see T.J. Watt land a massive contract extension with the Pittsburgh Steelers than his brother, J.J. Watt.
Watt and the Steelers had been at it for quite some time, and all indications were the two sides were far apart. However, that rumor was tossed in the trash on Thursday.
Watt and the Steelers have agreed to a three-year, $123 million contract that has an annual average of $41 million per year. Not only does that top all edge rushers, it makes Watt the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.
Not long after news of Watt's extension broke, J.J. posted on X with a three-word reaction.
"Earned. Deserved. Incredible," Watt wrote.

The Steelers were able to get Watt's extension done earlier than the last one. Back in 2021, the two sides didn't come to an agreement until right before Week 1 of the season.
The deal comes right before training camp begins. The Steelers are set to welcome all players to Latrobe on July 23.
According to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Watt's deal includes $108 million fully guaranteed.
Myles Garrett of the Cleveland Browns held the previous high-water mark among NFL edge rushers in annual average, and Ja'Marr Chase of the Cincinnati Bengals held the title of the highest-paid non-quarterback in league history based on yearly average before Watt.
