The Pittsburgh Steelers have a quarterback now after signing veteran Aaron Rodgers to a one-year deal.
It took some time, but the two sides were finally able to put pen to paper as Rodgers earned a one-year deal worth just over $13 million to be the team's QB1 in 2025.
Rodgers spent the past two seasons with the New York Jets after previously spending his entire career with the Green Bay Packers, and he now joins the AFC North which has Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow at the QB position.
On Tuesday, the full details of Rodgers' contract were revealed by Spotrac.
- Base: $13.65 million
- Signing bonus: $10 million
- Cap hit: $14.15 million
Additionally, Rodgers has a $5.85 million incentive package based on where the Steelers finish and individual awards.
- Playoff berth: $500,000
- Wild Card win: $600,000
- Divisional win: $750,000
- Conference champ: $1 million
- Super Bowl win: $1.5 million
- League MVP: $1.5 million
So, the $13.65 million deal comes with some big incentives for Rodgers. A Wild Card round win would net $600,000 while winning the NFC would net an extra $1 million.
A Super Bowl win or MVP award would earn Rodgers an extra $1.5 million. In his career, Rodgers won the NFL MVP four times, with the most recent coming in 2021 with the Packers.
Rodgers threw for 4,115 yards with 37 touchdowns and four interceptions that season. In 2024, he threw for 3,897 yards with 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, so it will be interesting to see if he can cash in on some of these incentives or not.
