An NFL analyst recently proposed a crazy trade that would send All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick from the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Dallas Cowboys.

Last Word on Sports' Anthony Palacios believes the Steelers could trade Fitzpatrick in the future to begin a much-needed rebuild, and Palacios lists the Cowboys as a top landing spot for the superstar safety.

"Between Donovan Wilson and Malik Hooker, the Cowboys need a significant upgrade at safety. They already have a questionable cornerback department with Kaiir Elam, Shavon Revel Jr., Trevon Diggs and DaRon Bland. It’s anyone’s spot up for grabs, but Fitzpatrick would be the favorite to replace Wilson, who has been in trade rumors this offseason," Palacios wrote.

Fitzpatrick would be a nice fit in the Cowboys' defense, as he would immediately step in as a high-level starter in the secondary and patrol the backend. The 28-year-old led the league in interceptions with six in 2022 and has been selected to the Pro Bowl in each of the last three seasons.

Though Fitzpatrick would be an electric addition to Brian Schottenheimer's squad, there is no chance that Pittsburgh will trade the five-time Pro Bowler anytime soon.

The Alabama product is a franchise cornerstone for the Steelers and one of the primary leaders of the defense. General manager Omar Khan likely isn't in a rush to move on from Fitzpatrick, even if Pittsburgh underperforms in 2025.
