The Pittsburgh Steelers need someone in the wide receiver room to establish themselves as the clear-cut No.2 receiver opposite DK Metcalf, and Roman Wilson has the potential to be that guy.

Wilson missed most of his rookie season due to a hamstring injury, but the Michigan product does possess a ton of promise and could be a contributor in the Steelers' offense in 2025. However, it sounds like Wilson is in his own head a bit.

During a press conference after Wednesday's practice, quarterback Aaron Rodgers praised Wilson, but also said the young receiver needs to trust himself more and get out of his own head.

"I need to get Roman out of his own head a bit," Rodgers said via 93.7 The Fan on X. "He cares so much about whether it’s my approval or he’s doing it right. He’s just got to trust himself because he’s so damn talented."

With a lot of pressure on his shoulders, Wilson is likely feeling the need to impress and stand out at camp rather than just playing and trusting his own instincts.

Rodgers has high hopes for the 2024 third-round pick, who posted 12 receiving touchdowns during his senior season at Michigan in 2023. However, it's up to Wilson to play with confidence and make an impact on the field.

A breakout 2025 campaign will not only help Wilson but also the Steelers, who lack many dependable receiving options. The 24-year-old will make his return to game action on Saturday, as Pittsburgh travels to EverBank Stadium to square off against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
