The Cincinnati Bengals (5-7) and Los Angeles Chargers (9-3) enter their Week 14 matchup this Sunday after polar opposite Week 13 performances and starkly contrasting seasons. The Bengals, for all intents and purposes, are out of the playoff picture while the Chargers are one game back of the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West.
Not only did the Bengals lose A.J. Green to a potentially season-ending injury last week, but the team also suffered a 24-10 loss to the Broncos. It was the Bengals' fourth consecutive loss and their sixth in the last seven games. Cincinnati's defense, which has allowed 30.9 points per game this season, the most in the NFL, had another rough day, as running back Philip Lindsay torched the Bengals for 157 yards and two rushing touchdowns.SIGN UP to watch every NFL game and RedZone during the 2018 season on DAZN
Backup quarterback Jeff Driskel threw an interception and lost a fumble in his first career NFL start. However, the 25-year-old still threw for 236 yards and had a touchdown pass to Cody Core.
As for the Chargers, they stormed back from a 19-point halftime deficit to defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers. Los Angeles was helped by Phillip Rivers' productive 26-of-36 passing for 299 yards and two touchdowns. Wideout Keenan Allen was his primary target, catching 14 passes for 148 yards and one touchdown.
In the fourth quarter, the Chargers tied the game with a 73-yard punt return from Desmond King, then took the lead on a weaving 18-yard run by running back Justin Jackson. Jackson received most of the workload with Melvin Gordon nursing an MCL injury.
