NFL Canada played matchmaker Monday.
The league's Twitter feed for north of the border offered to reunite tennis player Genie Bouchard and the man who got a date with her based on the Patriots' comeback win in Super Bowl 51.
At Super Bowl 52.
University of Missouri student John Goehrke struck up the relationship on a whim, asking Bouchard to agree to a date if the Patriots, trailing 28-3 at one point, came back to beat the Falcons, which New England did.
The two attended a Brooklyn Nets game shortly thereafter.
Bouchard in December tweeted a photo of the two together in Florida.
Which brings us to Monday.
Hopeless romantics (or marketing magicians … you decide), NFL Canada apparently thought of reuniting the couple around a game that sparked the relationship: at the Super Bowl on Feb. 4 in Minneapolis.
And Bouchard then Goehrke agreed.
