Desmond Ridder has yet to lose a home game as the Falcons' starting quarterback. Does a Commanders team in disarray have what it takes to end that streak?

While Ridder's play has been unsteady throughout the season, Washington's defense has made numerous quarterbacks look impressive. The Commanders were torched by the Bears tandem of Justin Fields and D.J. Moore on "Thursday Night Football" last week, after the Bills and Eagles put up big performances against Washington in games prior.

The Commanders benched rookie CB Emmanuel Forbes in the second half of the loss to Chicago, so DC Jack Del Rio is hoping changes will translate to results against Ridder and the Falcons.

Atlanta got back on track in Week 5 with a last-second win over the Texans, recovering after back-to-back losses. The NFC South is very much in play for all teams other than the Panthers, so every win means something even at this early stage of the season.

The NFC East is not nearly as wide open, so the Commanders are already under pressure to assert themselves in the wild-card race. It would not be stunning if the Falcons are one of the teams in that mix when playoff races heat up.

In a battle of mid-round picks turned starting quarterbacks, can Sam Howell build on a solid finish to last week's loss and out-duel Ridder?
