Browns offensive line coach Bob Wylie, who has become something of a social media star, broke his ankle during practice Thursday, the team announced.

His stomach apparently escaped unscathed.

No details were given on how the ankle injury happened, but the Browns said Wylie underwent successful surgery at University Hospital.

Wylie, 67, was a relatively obscure NFL assistant until his breakout appearance this August in HBO's "Hard Knocks" when his mocking monologue with players during stretching exercises and his bouncing stomach each time he yelled, "Set, hut!" during drills turned him into a cult hero of sorts on Twitter.

In his second year with the team, Wylie has embraced his newfound stardom, going so far as to appear as Santa Claus in a video released by the team this week (you might recognize his eight not-so-tiny reindeer).

The Browns (6-7-1) host the Bengals (6-8) at 1 p.m. ET Sunday, and assistant offensive line coach Mark Hutson is expected to assume Wylie's game-day duties.
