Antonio Brown attempted murder charge: Former NFL star reportedly in legal trouble after incident at boxing event image

Miami-Dade County authorities have an arrest warrant out for former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown over an attempted murder charge, The Washington Post reports.

The charge stems from an incident last month when Brown evaded robbery but was detained by police after gunshots were fired at a kickboxing event in Miami. According to The Washington Post, authorities have been unable to reach Brown as of Thursday, but the warrant asks that Brown post $10,000 and enter house arrest until the trial.

This is only the latest bout of legal trouble that Brown has faced since his final days in the NFL. Here's the latest on what happened.

Antonio Brown attempted murder charge, explained

On May 16, Brown was at an Adin Ross kickboxing event when multiple people reportedly attacked him in an attempted robbery. Brown was forced to defend himself against the attackers in an altercation that was caught on video.

Gunshots were fired off camera as part of the incident, but it was initially unclear where they came from.

Once police arrived, Brown was handcuffed and detained for about 20 minutes before being released. The next day, Brown released a statement explaining his side and revealed that he planned to take legal action against those who attempted to rob him.

The warrant for Brown's arrest on June 12 says that patrons at the event told police that Brown was the shooter, but he didn't have a weapon on him when he met with police.

Additionally, The Washington Post reports that investigators received video of Brown punching a man, which started the fight, and later shows him taking a security officer's gun. The alleged victim later told police that Brown shot at him twice, but he was able to force a struggle for the gun before police arrived.
