New York Jets quarterback Justin Fields was injured during Thursday's training camp practice, forcing the star dual-threat passer to take the dreaded cart ride to the locker room.
Coach Aaron Glenn addressed the media shortly after practice concluded and confirmed Fields suffered a toe injury, the extent of which remains unknown.
"Jets QB Justin Fields is undergoing X-rays on a toe injury suffered in practice today," The Athletic's Dianna Russini shared on X. "He was carted off the field after limping off during drills. Severity still TBD."
If Fields is out for an extended period of time, the Jets will turn to veteran backup Tyrod Taylor, who's had his own slew of health concerns throughout his career. The 14-year veteran has started 58 games with a 28-28-1 record over that time.
We'll have more information on Justin Fields' injury as it becomes available.
