The New York Jets are due to open their checkbook.

Garrett Wilson has been a star through three seasons in the NFL since being a first-round pick out of Ohio State, and his turn to get paid is coming soon.

SNY's Connor Hughes "expects" contract talks to start soon with Wilson, who is eligible for an extension this offseason.

"It's absolutely possible," Hughes said recently of Wilson getting a big-money extension.

To project Wilson's payout, we used Spotrac's contract tools. The in-depth sports contracts website calculates that Wilson would deserve at least a $122 million contract (at an average of about $23 million over five sesasons).

If Wilson got $122 million, it'd be the fifth-highest WR total contract value in NFL history (behind Ja'Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, CeeDee Lamb and DK Metcalf).

Through three seasons, Wilson has 279 catches for 3,249 yards and 14 touchdowns.

He's a face of the Jets' franchise, and he may soon be paid like one.
