New York Giants first-round pick Jaxson Dart made a lot of big throws and high-flying plays wearing No. 2 for the Ole Miss, but he'll look a lot different with Big Blue, donning No. 6 instead.
It's odd that a first-round quarterback doesn't get his collegiate number, and there's no doubt Dart wanted to keep No. 2 as a pro. But we learned via Cllct Media why he'll wear a different single-digit in New York.
Cornerback Deonte Banks wanted too much of a payout for the jersey swap.
Everyone has their price, but sometimes it's too high - even for a first rounder like Jaxson Dart 😅@nflpa | @Fanatics pic.twitter.com/yICvMiFhV0

“Yeah, it’s too much,” Dart told Cllct Media. “Too much.”
I get why Banks is holding out for more cash. He already gave up No. 3 to Russell Wilson. Giving up another number to a rookie? Yeah, that's going to cost Jaxson Dart some coin.
Dart hasn't committed to wearing No. 6 all season, but at this point, the first-rounder should be more focused on learning the playbook and challenging for starter's reps instead of the number he'll wear in 2025.
