The New York Giants aren't expected to be very competitive during the 2025 NFL season. It's what usually happens when a team is coming off a three-win season. And while that's a tough pill for Giants fans to swallow, the good news is it would take an awful lot to go wrong for a season with low expectations to turn into a nightmare.
But it doesn't mean that it's impossible for that nightmare to occur.
In a recent breakdown of every NFL team's worst-case scenario for 2025, the Giants' centered around their quarterbacks, both old and young.
"Because this is still a rebuild and there is limited pressure on either quarterback as a result, it would take major injuries to both Russell Wilson and Jaxson Dart for 2025 to be a nightmare here," Bleacher Report's Brad Gagnon wrote.

It's a nightmare any time a team suffers a major injury to its starting quarterback, but it's a Freddy Krueger-level, catastrophic turn of events if that injury happens to a first-round rookie QB.
The New York Giants aren't expected to roll Dart out with the starters early in the season, but if Big Blue gets off to a slow start -- remember, those expectations are low -- then it won't be long before the No. 25 overall pick takes the field.
And when he does, the offensive line better be playing at a high level so this nightmare projection doesn't turn into reality for Big Blue.
