Green Bay Packers receiver Romeo Doubs appears to be running out of time.

After missing the last week of practices due to a back injury, Doubs returned to the field on Monday and promptly dropped two passes in the first 10 plays, according to USA Today Packers insider Ryan Wood.

It's not great timing for Doubs, who was recently named in a Bleacher Report feature predicting the biggest names who could be cut prior to the season. Kristopher Knox speculates that Doubs could be a roster cut casualty after the Packers selected wide receivers with two of their top three picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.

"Of the Packers receivers who could realistically be cut, Doubs is the most noteworthy," Knox wrote. "He's been an impactful pass-catcher at times and has recorded 1,700 yards and 15 touchdowns through three seasons. However, he's also struggled with drops (22 in 43 games) and might not be in Green Bay's long-term plans.

"Doubs, who is scheduled to be a free agent in 2026, should interest teams with less-promising receiver depth. Green Bay would save $3.4 million in cap space by cutting him."

Doubs and the rest of the Green Bay receiver group had problems with drops last year. While teammates Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks ranked in the top five of drop rate according to Pro Football Focus, Doubs wasn’t much better, posting the third-highest drop rate on the team at 9.4%.

Doubs, a fourth-round pick out of Nevada in 2022, had a productive first two seasons of his NFL career with 101 catches for 1,099 yards and 11 touchdowns. However, his production dropped to 46 catches for 601 yards and four touchdowns in 2024 while missing four games due to a concussion.
