The Miami Dolphins are in the thick of training camp, trying harder than ever to avoid the injury bug. While the season could go in several directions, potential roster decisions may be looming. According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, some teams are keeping a close eye on Tyreek Hill’s situation in Miami.
“I have talked to a few teams who are at least monitoring his future a little bit. Could he be a potential trade target?" Fowler said. "Now, I know the Dolphins earlier this summer were telling teams, 'No, we're not trading Tyreek Hill.' But they just wonder, is he going to be available? It could be wishful thinking, maybe they want him to be available. But he's a player when I bring up to teams, 'Hey, who is sort of a trade target you're watching?' they bring up Tyreek Hill. So, we'll see. He's a big option for Tua, that would be a major move if they did move away from him.”
Following Fowler's report, potential trade packages have started to surface. Sportsnaut’s Andrew Buller-Russ suggested a scenario that sends Hill to the Detroit Lions.
“The Detroit Lions appear well-stocked at receiver, especially after adding Isaac TeSlaa in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Yet, Jameson Williams has just two years left on his contract, and the Lions may not want to pay him at the top of the receiver market. Yet, swapping him for another speed threat like Hill could work out for all parties involved,” Buller-Russ wrote.
A move like this would reunite Hill with a legitimate Super Bowl contender — something that aligns with his passionate rant last season about missing the playoffs. Hill reportedly dropped some weight during the offseason, which could give his speed an extra boost in 2025.
For the Lions, pairing Hill with Amon-Ra St. Brown would be a nightmare for opposing defenses. And for Hill, it could be the ideal opportunity to chase another ring.
