The Miami Dolphins' cornerback room has suffered a big blow. On Wednesday morning, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that top CB Kader Kohou sustained a season-ending knee injury during Saturday's practice.
Kohou, expected to anchor the secondary after multiple offseason departures, now leaves a position group already struck by injuries even more depleted.
Earlier in training camp, veteran Artie Burns was lost for the year with a torn ACL. The Dolphins already addressed some of their needs by signing free agents Jack Jones and Mike Hilton.
With Kader Kohou no longer available for the 2025 season, look at some of the top free-agent cornerbacks the Dolphins could target to address the roster gap.
- Rasul Douglas
- Stephon Gilmore
- James Bradberry
- Asante Samuel Jr.
Rasul Douglas, a proven outside starter with the Packers and Bills, offers ideal size and playmaking ability despite a down 2024 season. He was one of the first free agents the Dolphins pursued following the Jalen Ramsey trade.
Stephon Gilmore, who is 34 years old, could bring elite credentials and fill a short-term need. James Bradberry, the Super Bowl winner with the Eagles, is also unsigned and has starting experience.
Asante Samuel Jr. is another possible target. His 2024 season was limited by injury but he's just 25 and, if cleared medically, represents one of the best cover options available.
