The Jalen Ramsey sweepstakes appear to be cooling off, especially with the Dolphins showing no interest in covering much of his massive contract. That’s likely the biggest factor keeping potential suitors away. Ramsey carries a significant amount of guaranteed money for the upcoming season, and even Miami seems hesitant to take that on.
“But a lot of these teams are spooked by the money because of the $24 million guaranteed. The Rams are sort of waiting it out. It's really interesting. I do think it'll get done, I just don't know what it's going to look like financially. But I know he's supposed to get traded in somewhat short order, so I think in the next week or two I could see it coming together,” ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler said.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter believes the trade will happen around the time training camp begins—likely before it even starts.
“Jalen Ramsey will get traded. It'll be, I would expect before the start of training camp. We'll see how it shakes out, where he goes,” Schefter said.
A new team has entered the mix.
“I think Pittsburgh checked in. I'm not so sure Pittsburgh's gonna be the destination. In fact, if I had to guess, I would say Pittsburgh would not be the likely destination," Schefter said.

The Steelers are aiming to make a big leap this season—potentially Aaron Rodgers’ final year in the league—and Ramsey would undoubtedly elevate their defense. Interestingly, the trade price for Ramsey doesn’t appear to be all that high at the moment.
“In addition to Miami potentially eating some of his contract, the Steelers could theoretically acquire Ramsey for a fourth- or fifth-round draft pick — potentially creating the most dangerous secondary in the NFL with cornerbacks Joey Porter Jr. and Darius Slay Jr., as well as safeties Minkah Fitzpatrick and DeShon Elliott,” Steelers Wire’s Andrew Vasquez wrote.
Ramsey would be a major boost to the Steelers' secondary and could make a serious impact in a tightly contested AFC North that includes the Ravens and Bengals. The veteran corner is reportedly ready to contribute, following a falling-out with the Dolphins.
