NFL insider reveals Tom Brady's critical role on Las Vegas Raiders image

Tom Brady's role as minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders has been a major topic of discussion surrounding the franchise.

The Hall of Fame quarterback joined the Raiders' ownership group in October 2024, and has reportedly been involved in some aspects of decision-making, including the hiring of Pete Carroll as head coach and John Spytek as general manager and the selection of quarterback Cam Miller in Round 6 of the 2025 NFL Draft.

However, Brady's critical role within the organization may have just been revealed by Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer.

"Brady's impact on that place [the Raiders], it's gonna help keep Mark Davis at bay," Breer said of Brady's role with the Raiders during an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show. "His [Brady] ability to attract big money guys, which is part of why they paid six million dollars to get Chip Kelly out of Ohio State."

"This is not the same Raiders organization. When you're talking about on the field with Brady, the impact is the type of player they're bringing in. Carroll and Spytek are in lockstep with him [Brady]. There's a certain type of player Tom wants in the building. When those guys [Carroll and Spytek] are talking about acquiring a player, they want to be able to tell Tom that this is his type of guy. A guy who loves football, is tough, and all about the team."

Breer basically confirmed what we were all thinking: Brady has a major influence on the Raiders. The seven-time Super Bowl champion will likely be involved with a bunch of major decisions the franchise makes over the next few years and will play a critical role moving forward.

Additionally, Breer added that Brady doesn't want to be involved in day-to-day decision making, which makes sense. The 48-year-old even flew to Las Vegas for just one day to help out with quarterback evaluations earlier in the offseason.

Overall, the Raiders are moving in the right direction, and Brady seems to be a prominent figure in what could be a massive turnaround for Las Vegas in the coming years.
