Maxx Crosby weighs in on Raiders possibly signing Aaron Rodgers image

The Las Vegas Raiders will be in the quarterback market this offseason, as the team must upgrade at the position after a full year of subpar play from Aidan O'Connell and Gardner Minshew in 2024.

One of the top quarterbacks set to hit the market this offseason is New York Jets signal-caller Aaron Rodgers. New York will release the veteran once the new league year begins, allowing Rodgers to seek a fresh start elsewhere.

Though Las Vegas could target other veteran quarterback options or select a signal-caller in April's draft, Rodgers is a potential candidate to be the team's starter next year, and during an episode of his podcast, Raiders superstar edge rusher Maxx Crosby said he hopes to see the four-time All-Pro in the Silver and Black in 2025.

"I think with the doubt and all the negativity around Aaron Rodgers… I think he's going to come back and have a big year this year and I hope it's in our town," Crosby said on the latest episode of The Rush podcast.

Rodgers is past his prime and had an up-and-down 2024 campaign, but the 41-year-old would be a massive upgrade over O'Connell and Minshew and could flourish in a Las Vegas offense that has a few dynamic playmakers and a promising offensive line. Additionally, the ten-time Pro Bowler will be cheap to sign due to his age and uncertain future after 2025.

Aaron Rodgers hasn't looked like a high-level starting quarterback since 2021, but the future Hall of Famer could have one more vintage season left in him, and the Raiders should look to sign him in free agency to be their starting quarterback next year.
