Bhayshul Tuten injury update: Jaguars rookie expected to miss time with hamstring issue image

One of the Jacksonville Jaguars’ exciting rookie playmakers could soon be playing catch-up this summer.

Running back Bhayshul Tuten, Jacksonville’s fourth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, will miss training camp practices this week with a hamstring injury, head coach Liam Coen said Monday.

Tuten isn’t expected to miss an extended period of time, per Jaguars reporter Mia O’Brien, but missed reps could add up quickly for the rookie, especially in Jacksonville’s stacked running back room.

Tuten’s absence could be Tank Bigsby’s gain, as the third-year pro has reportedly been among the team’s standouts on offense early in camp. Veteran Travis Etienne should firmly be in the mix as well, with Tuten and potentially even seventh-round rookie LeQuint Allen vying for snaps behind them.

Jaguars GM James Gladstone called drafting Tuten a priority early on Day 3 of the draft, but the former Virginia Tech star isn’t exactly off to a roaring start. Back in the spring, Coen revealed that Tuten fumbled on his first carry of OTAs — a bad sign for a player who lost nine fumbles in college.

Thanks to his speed and pass-catching ability, there’s a real chance that Tuten carves out a significant role on offense during his rookie season. Monday’s news is an unfortunate setback, however.
