The Houston Texans made moves for a swarm of defensive talent this offseason. They traded for CJ Gardner-Johnson from the Philadelphia Eagles, and they also locked down both Derek Stingley and Jalen Pitre to long-term extensions.
Houston also signed cornerback Ronald Darby in free agency, but they will not have his services in 2025 after the latest news.
According to Aaron Wilson, Darby has informed the team of his plans to retire. The Texans signed Darby to a $2.5 million deal this offseason, and the news of his retirement was "totally unexpected" according to what sources told Wilson.
Houston is still well-stocked at the position, but their depth now takes a hit with the long-time veteran hanging up the cleats. Davy had eight interceptions in his 10-year career, and helped the Eagles win the Super Bowl in the 2017 season.
