Packers new throwback uniforms

The Packers unveiled new uniforms on Thursday that pay homage to one of their earliest teams, the original 1923 Green Bay Packers Football Club. That was the year

The jerseys are blue and gold with brown pants, which are similar to a different Packers' throwback jersey, using the same color scheme that the franchise had over a century ago. They also include a special helmet that looks like an old-school leather helmet, which are sure to be the talking point of the entire ensemble.

These uniforms are similar to throwbacks that Green Bay wore during the Aaron Rodgers era, using the same navy, gold and brown colors but offering a different design.

The most notable part of the Packers' new uniforms is the helmets, which have a unique and different compared to any other throwbacks. These helmets are designed to look like the old leather helmets that were used in 1923, before helmet technology evolved.

The NFL used leather helmets from the 1920s through around 1950, when plastic became the primary material used for helmet production. While the Packers obviously can't make and use actual leather helmets now, they decided to try and at least recreate the design of a leather helmet instead of using a helmet with a traditional logo or number.
