The Green Bay Packers have been reshaping their roster throughout the offseason, with their most recent move being the surprising release of cornerback Jaire Alexander. While many expected Alexander to be traded, the Packers opted to cut ties entirely — leaving fans and analysts questioning what's next, especially in a season where all eyes are on quarterback Jordan Love.

On Monday, a potential pass-rushing upgrade may have surfaced. Steelers star T.J. Watt is reportedly unhappy with Pittsburgh after the team gave recently acquired players Jalen Ramsey and Jonnu Smith more money, even as Watt continues working on a contract extension.

“Everybody just has assumed that, rightfully, the two sides will figure it out," ESPN’s Adam Schefter said. "But I don’t think they’re very close right now, and I don’t think he’s particularly pleased.”

If the Packers were to make a move for Watt, it would be massive. CBS Sports’ Cody Benjamin even sees it as a realistic possibility.

“It's kind of a shame that Watt's older brother, JJ, never got to suit up for his home state at the NFL level. Perhaps T.J. can correct that. The Packers aren't necessarily in dire need of a pass rusher with Rashan Gary headlining their group, but with Lukas Van Ness coming along slowly, why would they turn down a perennial All-Pro as they look to make a leap as a playoff contender? In the year 2025, when an ex-Packers great in Aaron Rodgers is trying to save Pittsburgh, this kind of a blockbuster swap would only be fitting,” Benjamin wrote.

Watt would bring a completely new energy to Green Bay. A trade like this would electrify the fan base and inject veteran leadership into a young defense — possibly shifting the Packers from playoff hopefuls to true contenders.
