The Pittsburgh Steelers are entering a season where Aaron Rodgers is the centerpiece of a one-year plan. However, the team is doing everything they can to win it all for him in what could be his final season. Rodgers took some time to sign with Pittsburgh, but the Steelers were never worried, as Rodgers had given them a verbal commitment.
“I just think verbally, behind the scenes, not that he guaranteed it, but he’s told [the Steelers], 'Listen, I'm gonna play for you. I just don’t want to go there and then miss part of mandatory minicamp because of my personal issues. I'm pretty sure they're gonna be solved by the end of May, at least in my satisfaction where I can give you my all,’” Ian O’Connor said.
Despite joining late, Rodgers quickly impressed, looking like a great version of himself in terms of conditioning.
“I can say here - and I think I'm 100 percent right - [Rodgers] is in the best shape and changed his body a little bit to fit who he really is," said Super Bowl champion Phil Simms on his podcast.
Rodgers recently explained why he chose to return to football instead of retiring, offering a heartfelt reason.
“Really, everything special in my life is because of this game, and that’s not hyperbole,” Rodgers said.

Rodgers and the Steelers have been working hard during training camp. ESPN’s Ryan Clark believes Rodgers is showing flashes reminiscent of his Super Bowl-winning days in Green Bay.
“I can confirm it AaronRodgers can still really throw the football… it’s crazy in person! 2010-11 Super Bowl Flashbacks,” Clark posted.
This is an exciting time as Rodgers appears to be arguably the best version of himself, and the Steelers know this is the closest they’ve felt to making a deep playoff run in a while. Rodgers understands he has one year left and is ready to give it his all. Pittsburgh has surrounded him with the right pieces — now it’s all about proving it when the game is on the line against another team.
