Fans, teammates and coaches held their breath on Friday when Detroit Lions safety Morice Norris suffered a serious injury during the Week 1 preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons. The frightening moment halted play and drew immediate medical attention on the field. Today, relief has followed as Norris shared an encouraging message on social media.

Norris was injured after making a tackle when his head appeared to collide with the knee of Falcons running back Nathan Carter.

Following the outpouring of concern from fans and teammates, Norris posted to Instagram: "Amen Amen I’m all good man don’t stress it, appreciate all the check ins and love."

In what appeared to be a repost shared to his story, Norris highlighted a message. The note read: "Be Grateful When You Pray. ... It is easy to focus only on what we need, but taking time to thank Him changes our hearts and deepens our trust."

He included the Bible verse from 1 Thessalonians 5:18: "Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

After the game was suspended on Friday, the Detroit Lions shared that Morice Norris was in stable condition with "feeling and movement in all extremities." He remained at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta overnight for observation.
