A wide receiver on the Detroit Lions has been listed as a fantasy football sleeper for the 2025 NFL season.
Bleacher Report's Alex Kay believes Lions rookie receiver Isaac TeSlaa could make a major impact in Detroit's offense this year and be a valuable asset in fantasy football.
"Although he'll open his career well behind established talents such as Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams and Sam LaPorta in the pecking order, his [TeSlaa's] upside within this offense is undeniable," Kay wrote. "TeSlaa still may be on the fringes of standard fantasy league rosters going into the season, but he will quickly become one of the hottest waiver-wire additions should any of Detroit's veteran receivers get sidelined."
When the Lions traded up in the third round for TeSlaa, it was viewed as a reach by general manager Brad Holmes. However, the young receiver has been standing out at camp and has also been a difference-maker in the Lions' first two preseason games.
TeSlaa led the team in receiving yards (46) during the Hall of Fame versus the Los Angeles Chargers on July 31. The Arkansas product hauled in a touchdown from quarterback Kyle Allen during last week's preseason contest versus the Atlanta Falcons.
Due to his impressive camp and solid preseason outings, TeSlaa is making a case to have a role in John Morton's offense. The 23-year-old's 6-foot-4 frame and big-play ability make him an ideal No.3 receiver behind Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams.
If TeSlaa continues to stack practices and makes his presence felt the rest of the preseason, he should earn some playing time in the regular season and become an under-the-radar fantasy option.
FantasyPros currently has TeSlaa as the No.85 wide receiver in ADP. If the Lions' rookie is available in the later rounds of a fantasy draft, someone could get a massive steal for the 2025 season.
