The Denver Broncos brought in a new running back this week, one that should excite the fanbase and bolster the depth at the position in a big way.

J.K. Dobbins agreed to a one-year deal with the Broncos and he could have a chance to become a huge part of this year's offense. Depending on how quickly he can get down Sean Payton's offense, he joins an inexperienced backfield that has less than 300 career rushing attempts combined.

Last season, Dobbins rushed for over 900 yards for the Los Angeles Chargers, a team he was an instant contributor for after getting back with his former offensive coordinator in Baltimore, Greg Roman. Whether Dobbins can find that same level of success in Denver remains to be seen, but he does seem to be fueled by the Chargers deciding not to bring him back for another season.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Dobbins had this to say in regards to the Chargers not re-signing him.

“I always have a chip on my shoulder, but that was a little weird. It’s a business. It's for my agent to handle. Good luck to [the Chargers]. I'm a Bronco now. They have to see me twice a year. That's my thoughts on it. I'm going to have the chip on my shoulder, of course, but I'm here. I'm worried about winning more than just beating—I don't want to just beat the Chargers. I want to go on and I want to get a ring. I've been in the playoffs every year I've played, so I'm tired of losing in them. That's my goal. Bring a Super Bowl to the city and just be a blessing to the community, as well."

The Chargers instead signed Najee Harris to a free-agent deal before selecting Omarion Hampton in the first round of the draft. Hampton was heavily mocked to the Broncos in the weeks leading up to the draft, and now they will have to see him twice per season too.

Dobbins will get his first chance to face his former team in Week 3 at SoFi Stadium. Both the Broncos and Chargers are expected to compete with the Kansas City Chiefs for the AFC West title.
