Former Denver Broncos cornerback Ronald Darby has chosen to call it a career, making the announcement of his retirement official on Monday.
Darby signed a one-year deal with the Houston Texans back in March but rather than try and make their roster, he has instead chosen to hang up the cleats. That concludes a 10-year career that started in Buffalo after the Bills made him a second-round pick out of Florida State in 2015.

The Broncos were Darby's fourth team as he signed a three-year deal with Denver ahead of the 2021 season. The Broncos were excited about the prospects of landing Darby and anointed him as one of the starting cornerbacks in Vic Fangio's defense for that season.
He made 11 starts for the Broncos in 2021 but a hamstring injury caused him to miss some time. The following season, a torn ACL ended his season and ultimately, his short stay in Denver. In total, he played in just 16 games for the Broncos and had 67 tackles, one forced fumble and three pass breakups.
After Denver, he spent a season each with the Baltimore Ravens and Jacksonville Jaguars. He may best be remembered for his three-year stint with the Philadelphia Eagles from 2017-19 where he helped the team win Super Bowl LII.
In Denver, Darby will likely be remembered as a missed opportunity as injuries marred his time with the team. Still, Broncos Country should wish him the best in retirement from the game and what comes next for him.
