The Denver Broncos need to surround Bo Nix with some playmakers in 2025 but it seems that one of the names rumored to be joining the team possibly will not be a player the team is interested in.

The Broncos have been connected to San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel since news broke that the veteran wide receiver had requested to be traded to a new team. But according to Chris Tomasson of The Denver Gazette, the Broncos aren't interested in a deal

49ers general manager and former Broncos safety John Lynch stated on Wednesday that the team will honor Samuel's request to be dealt, but whether the compensation in return is too high or if Deebo is just generally not seen as a good fit, the Broncos will be looking elsewhere for weapons for Nix.

Samuel is still capable of being an impactful player in the league, but he will be entering his seventh season in the league. He saw a bit of a decline in production this past season which is concerning considering the 49ers were without Christian McCaffrey and Brandon Aiyuk for most of the season.

Deebo Samuel stats

2023: 60 receptions, 892 yards, 7 TDs, 225 rushing yards, 5 TDs
2024: 51 receptions, 670 yards, 3 TDs, 136 yards rushing, 1 TD

Seeing his numbers down in every category is not necessarily a good sign and the fact that he seems to have some sort of injury designation more often than not could also be something that chased the Broncos away.

Samuel is a player that Sean Payton could get creative with on offense and could be the guy to fill the much-talked-about "Joker" role, but the team clearly feels there are better options out there.
