The Denver Broncos will enter the 2025 season with plenty of hope at the wide receiver position.
The team extended No. 1 wide receiver Courtland Sutton, but he is the only sure thing in the wide receiver room. Troy Franklin has had a great camp this summer and Devaughn Vele and Marvin Mims Jr. are both promising prospects. But what if none of them step up the way the Broncos are hoping they do?
Free-agent acquisition Evan Engram may have the biggest impact on the Broncos' passing game this season, but the team is still going to want to surround Bo Nix with a variety of capable weapons as he continues his growth.
Alex Ballentine of Bleacher Report took a look at how the Broncos could look next offseason and determined that Terry McLaurin, currently embroiled in a nasty contract situation with the Washington Commanders, could be a top free-agent target for the team.
"The Broncos just paid out big money to Sutton to be the No. 1 receiver for Bo Nix. But the beauty of playing a quarterback on a rookie contract is that you can spend the money to put an elite supporting cast around him.
Terry McLaurin recently requested a trade, but the Commanders don't have to oblige if they want him to play out his current contract. If that's how things happen, then there would be plenty of suitors who would pay up for the 29-year-old.
If the Broncos continue to be a team on the rise, they would have a compelling pitch as McLaurin could team with Sutton and Nix to give the offense much more juice in 2026", wrote Ballentine.

This would be a terrific move for the Broncos. If McLaurin hits the free-agent market this coming offseason, he will be one of the top players on it. The Broncos should be a force in 2025 but if you look at things, 2026 could be the year for them to make the push to win the whole thing. Some will argue that the Broncos could win the Super Bowl this coming season, but realistically, 2026 could be an even bigger year for the team.
Landing a target like McLaurin would put the team all-in for a Super Bowl run.
