The situation between the Dallas Cowboys and Micah Parsons has grown increasingly confusing, as little progress has been made. Parsons is on track to receive the largest contract in NFL history for a pass rusher. However, team owner Jerry Jones reportedly attempted to handle negotiations himself.
“The fact that Jerry Jones and the Cowboys believe they can negotiate a 9-figure extension with Micah Parsons without involving his agent says everything about the current state of the franchise. This entire situation is laughable from the Dallas side. It could’ve — and should’ve — been avoided. But instead, the Cowboys operated with pure arrogance, foolishness and stubbornness,” NFL insider Jordan Schultz posted.
Parsons was reportedly frustrated by the situation, as he wanted his agent involved in the deal. Despite that, Jones has insisted this approach is nothing new, referencing how he has handled contract negotiations in the past. Following the breakdown in talks, Parsons requested a trade.
“Still I stayed quiet but again after repeated shots at myself and all the narratives I have made a tough decision I no longer want to play for the Dallas Cowboys. My trade request has been submitted to Stephen Jones personally,” Parsons posted.
It remains unclear whether the Cowboys will actually trade Parsons, but the situation could escalate quickly. Packers insider Eli Berkovits shared new information from an NFL source regarding a potential destination if a trade does occur.
“Ian Rapoport on Micah Parsons to the Packers rumors. ‘That’s the kind of team that I would say, if Micah was going to be traded, that he’d be going to,’” Berkovits posted.

Landing Parsons would be a major move for the Packers, especially since they have the cap space to afford him. Meanwhile, the Cowboys’ defensive line is a growing concern—making the loss of one of the league’s best pass rushers even more significant.
