Lamar Jackson didn't really want to talk about it.
Reporters were asking the Baltimore Ravens superstar quarterback about a potential contract extension, and at first, mum was the word.
“I never discuss contract situations here,” Jackson said. “I don’t want to talk about it.”
But those pesky, persistent questioners didn't let up.
How would it feel to be the highest-paid player in football?
Jackson replied subtly, "Sounds good."

At this point, if a contract extension came soon for Jackson, he would certainly get that honor.
On a yearly basis, it'd mean at least $61 million per year to top Dak Prescott's $60 million AAV.
Jackson deserves that and then some. He's been one of the best quarterbacks in football since he became a starter, and he's a two-time MVP.
The only task left is to win in the playoffs. The AFC is loaded with stud QBs, and Jackson is one of them.
Soon, he'll probably have the contract to prove his value, and then he'll have to prove it on the postseason turf.
