Kyle Pitts was supposed to be the next great tight end, a perfect hybrid of size and speed to revolutionize the position.

Instead he's triggered more questions than answers.

A disappointing tenure with Atlanta has led to reports that he's been available for a trade and several teams are interested.

Pitts hasn't been present at OTA's for the Falcons as of late, but it's not because of the trade rumors.

The former Florida Gator is battling a foot strain, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Pitts missed 10 games with a torn MCL in 2022, but other than that has played every game of his four-year career. However, it's been a disappointing, downward trend for the tight end since he entered the league.

He crossed the 1,000 yard mark in his rookie season, but since then his highest mark has been 667 yards.

He scored four touchdowns last season which, surprisingly, is his career high. It hasn't been best return on investment for a player drafted fourth overall, the highest draft position for a tight end in NFL history.

As Atlanta moves forward with young quarterback Michael Penix, it would be good to retain Pitts and hopefully he can have a bounce-back season.

If they were to trade the tight end, Atlanta would be cashing out at rock bottom for a player they thought would revolutionize their franchise.

While the rumors of a potential trade simmering, Pitts' new injury update could put a wrench in the future whether it be in Atlanta or otherwise.
