The Arizona Cardinals are looking to return to form this upcoming season after narrowly missing the NFL playoffs last year. The team is led by quarterback Kyler Murray, who is poised for a breakout year. Arizona has its tight end of the future in Trey McBride, but the front office is now focused on adding a veteran wide receiver to pair with second-year sensation Marvin Harrison Jr.

Harrison impressed as a rookie last season, recording 62 receptions for 885 yards and 8 touchdowns. The Cardinals are working to unlock his full potential and believe that bringing in a proven veteran is essential to that process. Enter Keenan Allen—the top wide receiver still available on the market.

“After just one year in Chicago, the six-time Pro Bowler is still on the market after catching a respectable 70 passes for 744 yards and seven touchdowns last year. Still just 32 years old, Allen would be a great signing at this point in the offseason,” Bryan DeArdo wrote.

The buzz surrounding a potential move to Arizona for Allen is starting to build, as the fit seems ideal for both sides.

“There are plenty of teams who need veteran help at wide receiver, but Allen fits in Arizona because the Cardinals must unlock all the potential in Marvin Harrison Jr., who was the fourth overall pick in last year’s draft ... and he (Allen) can give quarterback Kyler Murray another dependable target to go along with tight end Trey McBride," Jeffri Chadiha wrote.

Beyond Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson, the Cardinals' receiving depth is thin and largely unproven. The organization wants its rising star to learn from someone who has had sustained success—when healthy.

Harrison Jr. is aiming to take another leap forward this season as he works to establish himself as one of the league’s premier wide receivers. With a veteran like Allen mentoring him, the sky truly is the limit.
