No. 8 Tennessee's cross-divisional matchup vs. No. 25 LSU on Saturday will be telling in how the SEC stands to look for the rest of the season.

The Volunteers have jumped out to their first 4-0 start since winning their first five games in 2016, and are looking to remain undefeated ahead of a Week 7 visit from top-ranked Alabama. The Tigers, under first-year coach Brian Kelly, have rebounded nicely from a season-opening loss to Florida State to win four consecutive games.

Something has to give when the teams face off in Tiger Stadium.

Tennessee's has been a vexing offense to overcome this year, and that starts with quarterback Hendon Hooker. He has completed 81 of 113 passes (71.7 percent) for 893 yards and eight touchdowns to interceptions. He also is the team's third-leading rusher with 175 yards and three more scores on the ground.

Beyond him, the Volunteers have a stable of talented skill-position players, including two running backs with four rushing touchdowns each: Jaylen Wright (256 yards) and Jabari Small (184 yards). They also have three players with more than 200 receiving yards on the year.

Likewise, LSU's offense runs through quarterback Jayden Daniels, who has 915 passing yards and six passing touchdowns on the year. He also leads the Tigers in rushing, with 321 yards, three touchdowns and a 5.4 yards-per-carry average. The good news for LSU is that he will play vs. Tennessee after suffering a banged-up knee in a 21-17 win against Auburn last week.
