Penn State has struggled to put together a solid wide receiver corps over the past few years. While incredible tight ends and running backs, along with offensive lineman, have come through the team, their wide receiver room has struggled in comparison.
Whatever the reason may be, Penn State is hoping the 2025 season can be a different story. One of the players who's slated to make a big impact on the wide receiver room is redshirt Junior Kaden Saunders.
But, according to Sean Fitz of Blue White Illustrated for on3.com, the Penn State wide receiver is expected to miss significant time amid a long-term injury. Saunders has dealt with injuries his entire collegiate career, and this latest one is a tough blow for the wide receiver.
"Now a redshirt junior in Happy Valley," Fitz writes, "BWI has confirmed that Saunders is once again dealing with an injury that is likely to keep him off the field in 2025."
Saunders has struggled to stay on the field for Penn State during his time with the team. He played in just four gams last season, with the majority of his work coming as a punt returner before he was out for the year with another injury.

As a former top 100 recruit, Saunders hasn't been able to make an impact for Penn State like he's believed he could. Across his career at Penn State, he's hauled in eight receptions for 77 yards and one touchdown.
He hasn't caught a pass since the 2023 season, and now in 2025, he might miss a significant portion of the year. It's a tough blow for Saunders and Penn State, especially with the potential for a huge 2025 season ahead of them.
In his absence, which Penn State is all-too familiar with at this point, the rest of the wide receiver room will have to step up. Transfers Kyron Hudson, Trebor Pena, and Devonte Ross could be key pieces in the offense led by Drew Allar in 2025.
But this news on Saunders is unfortunate, as the Penn State redshirt junior hasn't managed to establish himself in college football since his recruitment in 2024.
