The Oregon Ducks are coming off a strong 2024 season, and despite the changing tides at quarterback, the team has a lot of promise ahead of the 2025 College Football Season. They were ranked 7th in the preseason rankings, and look to be a top contender this season.
But, according to Jack Lazarus of The Daily Emerald, the Ducks are suspending former five-star wide receiver recruit Jurrion Dickey for the foreseeable future. While it's not expected to last forever, Dickey will be away from the team for some time.
"Sources close to the team have told The Daily Emerald that wide receiver and former five-star recruit Jurrion Dickey is no longer with the team," Lazarus writes, "but according to Max Torres of On3, this is only intended to be a temporary measure."
The 20-year-old wide receiver out of East Palo Alto has two receptions in his collegiate career so far through two seasons. Both receptions were for seven yards, but he hasn't done anything beyond those two receptions in his college career.

As mentioned by Lazarus, "Dickey reportedly has a history of bad relationships with teammates and staff throughout the football program." Those bad relationships allegedly took a turn recently.
"According to team sources and the report from On3," Lazarus writes, "the behavior allegedly culminated in a fight with an undisclosed member of the receiver room on Sunday."
This update on the former five-star recruit doesn't bode well for Dickey to have a prominent role in the Ducks' offense in 2025. After being a highly-touted recruit in 2023, Dickey has been a bit of a letdown across his first two years at Oregon.
Combined with this suspension from the team, the former 2nd-ranked receiver in the nation might not last much longer at Oregon, even if the team claims the suspension is only a temporary measure.
