Ohio State football legend Will Howard draws rave review from Aaron Rodgers image

Will Howard is slated to be the backup or third-string quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2025. However, the Ohio State football legend impressed during offseason workouts this summer, and Aaron Rodgers took notice.

During an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday, Rodgers praised Howard for his sharp play in workouts and also stated that he will mentor the young signal-caller.

"I was impressed by him [Howard]," Rodgers said. "Obviously, he worked once the rookies came out in May. I thought he looked really sharp. He made a bunch of great throws. I think there's definitely some things I can help him with and some things that are different at the pro level."

"And I'd love to help Will and set him up to have a chance to be the guy for the next - who knows how long? I think that's part of the opportunity. It's not the job, you know. I've seen other veteran quarterbacks talk about it, but it's the opportunity to help Will out. That's one that I really am looking forward to," Rodgers added.

It's great to hear that Rodgers will mentor Howard, as learning from one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time will be incredibly beneficial for the former Buckeyes' development.

Though Howard was a sixth-round pick and has the odds stacked against him, he may receive the opportunity to be Pittsburgh's long-term starter and replacement for Rodgers in 2026, who plans to retire after the 2025 season.
